Competitions & Events

Cheer Sport Ireland is committed to ensuring that all CSI-run and CSI-endorsed sanctioned competitions and events operate to the highest standards of safety, governance, fairness, and professionalism. As the National Governing Body, CSI requires that any event delivered under its sanction adheres strictly to CSI policies, safeguarding requirements, health and safety standards, and competition regulations.

All sanctioned events must implement robust safeguarding measures, including trained Event Welfare personnel, appropriate supervision ratios, controlled accreditation systems, and clear reporting procedures for any welfare or conduct concerns. Event organisers are required to comply with CSI’s Child Protection, Garda Vetting, Codes of Behaviour, Anti-Bullying, and Health & Safety policies to ensure a safe and positive environment for all participants.

Competition standards must also reflect fairness, transparency, and integrity. This includes adherence to recognised rulesets, qualified officials and judges, safe warm-up procedures, age-appropriate divisions, and clear operational planning. Risk assessments, emergency action planning, and medical provision are mandatory components of all CSI-sanctioned events.

CSI reserves the right to monitor, audit, and withdraw sanctioning where standards are not met. By enforcing consistent national standards, Cheer Sport Ireland ensures that competitions and events across Ireland are delivered with professionalism, athlete welfare at the forefront, and in alignment with national governance expectations.
