Team Ireland All Girl Elite Tryouts Bring Ireland's Best Together

Dublin, Ireland | 12 July 2026

Cheer Sport Ireland proudly hosted the Team Ireland All Girl Elite Tryouts on 12 July 2026, welcoming talented athletes from clubs across Ireland for the opportunity to earn a place on the national team for the 2027 ICU Cheerleading World Championships.

Held in Dublin, the tryouts brought together athletes from every corner of the country, highlighting the continued growth of cheerleading in Ireland and the commitment of athletes striving to represent their nation on the world stage.

The assessment was led by Head Coach Hilton Holian, supported by Kelly Gilmore and international coach Maggie Cacchione, who collectively evaluated athletes across a range of technical and performance-based criteria.

Throughout the day, athletes were assessed on their stunting, tumbling, jumps, athletic ability and overall performance, while also demonstrating coachability, teamwork, commitment and the attitude expected of a Team Ireland athlete.

The event was expertly organised by Team Ireland Manager Cara Watson, whose planning and coordination ensured a professional and well-structured selection process. Cara successfully brought together athletes from clubs throughout Ireland, providing every applicant with the opportunity to showcase their abilities in a positive, high-performance environment.

Selection for Team Ireland All Girl Elite is highly competitive, and participation in the tryout does not automatically guarantee selection. Athletes who successfully meet the required performance standards and selection criteria will be invited to join the Team Ireland All Girl Elite programme, where they will begin preparations to represent Ireland at the 2027 ICU Cheerleading World Championships.

Cheer Sport Ireland would like to thank all athletes, coaches, parents and volunteers who contributed to the success of the day. The standard of talent, dedication and sportsmanship on display reflects the exciting future of Irish cheerleading and the strength of collaboration between clubs across the country.

Congratulations to every athlete who took part, and best of luck to those progressing to the next stage of the Team Ireland journey. We look forward to following your preparations as you work towards proudly representing Ireland on the international stage.
