Setting the Standard for Safe, Professional and Well-Governed Clubs
The Cheer Sport Ireland Gold Mark is our highest recognition for affiliated clubs that demonstrate excellence in governance, safeguarding and operational standards.
The scheme has been developed to recognise clubs that go above and beyond the minimum requirements of membership, providing athletes, parents and the wider community with confidence that their club operates to nationally recognised best practice standards.
Gold Mark status is awarded annually to affiliated clubs that successfully complete our comprehensive verification process and provide evidence of compliance across key areas of club governance.
Gold Mark Criteria
To achieve Gold Mark status, clubs must demonstrate compliance in the following areas:
- Safeguarding – Up-to-date safeguarding policies and procedures in line with national guidance.
- Garda Vetting – Appropriate Garda Vetting for coaches, volunteers and relevant personnel.
- Coach Qualifications – Evidence of recognised coaching qualifications and continued professional development.
- First Aid – Current First Aid certification within the coaching team.
- Insurance – Appropriate insurance cover through the Cheer Sport Ireland membership scheme or approved equivalent.
