Team Ireland 2027 

Represent Ireland at the ICU World Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, Florida in 2027

Applications are now closed for clubs, coaches, and athletes.

 

Who Can Apply?

Clubs (Youth & Junior Teams)

Clubs may apply to represent Ireland in Youth and Junior divisions.

  • Must be a registered CSI club in good standing
  • Submit a full team (18–24 athletes)
  • Must meet ICU age and division requirements

Coaches

Coaches applying must:

  • Hold valid CSI membership
  • Have relevant qualifications and vetting
  • Have a minimum of 2 years coaching experience
  • Be available for the full selection and training process

Athletes (Open All Girl Elite)

Athletes apply individually for the Open national team.

  • Must be aged 16+
  • Must be an Irish citizen or resident (minimum 6 months)
  • Must be available for all stages of selection and training

Selection Process

The selection process is completed in four stages:

1. Application Submission
Deadline: April 24th, 2026 (5:00 PM)
Submit your expression of interest with all required details.

2. Interviews
May 1st – 15th, 2026
Shortlisted applicants will attend an interview.

3. Video Submission
Deadline: June 14th, 2026 (5:00 PM)
Submit required routine sections for review.

4. In-Person Selection
Date: July 12th, 2026 (Dublin)
Final trial evaluated by certified judges.

Final Results Issued: July 17th, 2026

 

CSI reserves the right to amend the above timeline based on operational needs.

What You Will Be Assessed On

Selections are based on:

  • Technical execution and skill level
  • Difficulty appropriate to division
  • Creativity and overall performance quality
  • Compliance with ICU rules and safety standards
  • Commitment, organisation, and readiness to represent Ireland

Team Requirements

If selected, all teams and athletes must:

  • Attend regular national team training sessions
  • Commit fully to the Team Ireland programme
  • Represent Ireland exclusively (not club) during official events
  • Follow all ICU and CSI rules, including safeguarding and conduct policies

Cost & Commitments

Participation requires financial and time commitment:

  • €15 per training session
  • Athletes are responsible for travel, accommodation, and competition costs. This will be outlined if successful during the selection process.
  • Additional administrative and team-related costs apply

Do clubs or athletes apply differently?
Yes. Clubs apply for Youth and Junior teams. Athletes apply individually for the Open division.

Do I need a full routine to apply?
No. Routine sections are required later during the video submission stage.

Can athletes miss in-person tryouts?
Attendance is strongly recommended. Exceptions may be considered in limited circumstances.

Who selects the teams?
Selections are made by a panel of CSI-appointed certified judges using ICU scoring systems.
